The only son of the late Pastor George White Sr. and Flora Breeze, Bishop George White Jr. was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on August 15, 1947. Educated in the Mississippi school system, Bishop White pursued higher education at Mississippi Valley State University and at Northeast Missouri State, now Truman State, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He obtained his Masters in Episcopal Studies and a Doctorate Degree in Sacred Theology through New Life School of Theology.
A veteran of the United States Armed Forces, he completed a tour of duty in South Vietnam. He then joined the St. Louis Police Department, where he served in various capacities, including detective and sergeant. Bishop White retired from the department and became the full-time pastor of West End Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in July 1990.
In 1994, after seeking a more spiritual relationship with the Lord, Bishop experienced the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr. Following the move of the Holy Spirit and the vision of the Senior Pastor, West End Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church became West End Mount Carmel Full Gospel Baptist Church.
With a strong commitment to expand the parameters of church to meet the needs of the community, Bishop White has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Department of Mental Health Regional Advisory Council Drug and Alcohol Abuse, as Chairman Emeritus of Committed Caring Faith Communities (target cities faith organization of Missouri, as Board of Directors of Faith House, as Vice President of the Board of Directors of New Beginnings Treatment Center, and as a Board Member of AACID Committee (African American Churches in Dialogue). Currently, Bishop White serves as Chairman of the Board for the West End Mount Carmel Community Outreach Center. He is also a board member for St. Louis for Kids. Additionally, Bishop has received numerous awards, recognitions and honors, to include several Mayoral Proclamations from the City of St. Louis.
Bishop White has served in several capacities since affiliating with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, to include State Bishop of Missouri and International Bishop of Evangelism. He carries the vision of ‘Expanding The Parameters of The Church To Meet The Needs of The Community’ as he continues to make a difference in the lives of many people.
Residing in Florissant, Missouri with his wife Sharon, Bishop White is the loving father of seven children: Corliss, Erica, Jonathan, Shakira, Tabitha, Miah and George III. He has four wonderful grandchildren.
