Bishop George White Jr. and Lady Sharon C. White


                  THE BIOGRAPHY OF BISHOP GEORGE WHITE JR., TH.D.

The only son of the late Pastor George White Sr. and Flora Breeze, Dr. George White Jr. was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on August 15, 1947.  Educated in the Mississippi School System, Dr. White pursued higher education at Mississippi Valley State University.  He attended Northeast Missouri State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.  He also attended New Life School of Theology to obtain his Doctorate’s Degree in Sacred Theology.

A veteran of the United States Armed Forces for three years, which included a tour of duty in South Vietnam from 1967-1968.  Afterwards, joined the St. Louis Police Department, where he retired as sergeant.  

In March of 1989, Dr. White became the full-time pastor of West End Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. After seeking a more spiritual relationship with the Lord, he experienced the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ under the leadership of Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr.  Following the move of the Holy Spirit and the vision of Pastor White, West End Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church became West End Mount Carmel Full Gospel Baptist Church.

With a strong commitment to expand the parameters of church to meet the needs of the community, Dr. White has served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Department of Mental Health Regional Advisory Council Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Chairman Emeritus of Committed Caring Faith Communities, Board of Directors of Faith House, Vice President of the Board of Directors of New Beginnings Treatment Center, a Board Member of AACID Committee (African American Churches in Dialogue) and board member of St. Louis for Kids.  Currently he serves as Chairman of the Board for the West End Mount Carmel Community Outreach Center.  Additionally, he has received numerous awards, recognitions and honors, to include several Mayoral Proclamations from the City and County of St. Louis.

Dr. White served in several capacities during his affiliation with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, to include State Bishop of Missouri and International Bishop of Evangelism.  He carries the vision of “Expanding The Parameters of The Church To Meet The Needs of The Community” as he continues to make a difference in the lives of many people.

Residing in Florissant, MO with his wife Sharon, he is the loving father of seven children; five girls and two boys and including five wonderful grandchildren.
