WEMCCOS After School and Summer Youth Program

This is a year round education enhancement program that supplements K thru 12 students education.  This dynamic program offers academic tutoring and technology training; as well as, performing arts, educational field trips and recreational programs. Program is offered Monday-Friday from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm.  The Summer Youth Camp component of the program is 10 weeks in duration for children ages 6 to 18 years old.  It offers opportunities to learn, work, and play through educational, recreational, personal and social support programming.  There is also an athletic component built into the program to promote health and wellness. 

Powder Room Girls Program

Is designed to reduce obesity among girls ages 8 to 18 years promoting healthy lifestyles through aerobics, healthy eating, sports and recreation; in addition girls learn personal development skills utilizing the Girls Circle Curriculum, while participating in 8 week high-powered workshops, i.e. sewing, etiquette, double-dutch, fashion, etc.

WEMCCOS Performing Arts

The program utilizes performing arts as a creative educational and prevention tool for students grades 1 through 9.  The program provides basic instruction in ballet, hip hop, jazz/modern, praise dance, piano and drums.  Children develop personal and life skills as well.  Program is free of charge. 

WEMCCOS Parent-Youth Aikido

This martial art promotes well being.  Your body will become stronger, more flexible and relaxed.  Your mind will become more clear and focused.  Classes are designed for children to interact with their parents or adult caregivers in new and different ways.  

Boxing Team

This program is facilitated by a highly experienced boxing coach who provides great techniques such as stances and guards, footwork - step & slide, rocker shuffles, lead step, and circling; defense movements & so much more!  It teaches children great boxing skills, promote safe and healthy fun. 

Missouri Gold Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc.

This program is for the serious horn player, drummer, and/or color guard performer who enjoy playing/performing, traveling, and making meaningful friends!  Join us!

First Step Program

The Mission of First Step is to provide a safety net for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse, or who are currently on a treatment center's waiting list.  We offer support by assisting individuals with accessing treatment, performing preliminary assessments, providing temporary sponsorship, transportation, meetings, and assist addicted parents with providing child care during treatment. Call our HOTLINE at 314-226-4669.

Employment Program

Basics of office administration, intro computer skills, interview Techniques, work prep, how to prepare a resume and various job readiness skills.  Call for more information.

Seniors Walking Club

All senior citizens are welcome to come join our Senior Walking Club for daily walking from 8:00 am - 10:00 am, Monday through Friday.

National City Computer Lab

Is designed to bridge the digital divide that exists in low income communities.  The lab provides both open access and structured instructional basic and advanced learning for children and adults in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.
